The Intriguing Ping Shan Heritage Trail

The trail unravels the culture and history of an old village and it connects over ten scenic Chinese cultural buildings all within walking distance. The buildings include the Yeung Hau Old Temple, Hung Shing Temple, Tsui Sing Lau Pagoda which is believed to serve feng shui purposes by blocking bad luck and preventing floods. Though at present this pagoda has only three floors it was originally seven floors high. The Tang Ancestral Hall which was built over 700 hundred years ago, a shrine and an old well are some of the cultural sites the trail shows. The Kung Ting study hall, the Ching Shu Hin building which has two levels and a visitors room for scholars and the Sheung Cheung Wai a typical walled village are among the buildings that will give tourist an insight into the cultural heritage of a bygone era.
