Do I Really Need A Guide To Climb Mount Kilimanjaro?

I have extensive outdoor, backpacking, hiking and climbing experience in North America. I would not need any porters, as I could easily carry my own food and gear for a hike of this time and distance.

    If you have experience, then a guide is probably not necessary. However, I’ve never gone hiking alone. This is a big mountain and I at least recommend you go with a friend.
