Know Where The Hiking Trails Are In Germany?
I’m living in Bad Nauheim. I am looking for hiking trails around here, not an extremely difficult one because I have a 6 year old. We are experienced day hikers. And I don’t speak any German (I’m trying to learn so cut me some slack on that part) so I haven’t been able to translate the websites I have enough to figure out exactly where to go to hit any of the trails.

Yuu could climb the Johannisberg mountain as well. I would start with the tourist office in Bad Nauheim. They should speak English and be able to at least provide you with good maps of the area.
I’m not exactly familiar with where Bad Nauheim is. Could you provide the name of a bigger nearby city, or at least the name of the state you are in?
I’ve done some hiking around Tripstadt, which isn’t too far from K-Town (Kaiserslautern). I’ve also done some hiking in the Schwarzwald (Black Forest), not too far from Pforzheim.
Well, I think in any case you are going to have to drive a bit. Supposedly, the Lahn River Valley (which is in Hesse) is a beautiful area to hike. The 44km stretch between the towns of Weilburg and Limburg is mentioned as having nice views of the river and pretty little towns and hiking, of course. The best place to start is the tourist office in Bad Nauheim. They should have hiking maps of the area and I know there are some nice easy trails because I´ve visited the place before. It is a Spa (hence the “Bad” in the name) and has a bunch of Rehab facilities, mainly for heart patients (as you might have already noticed
) so there are some easier trails, mainly through the wooded areas where your 6-year-old is bound to discover exciting stuff every couple of feet or so.. lol. Hope you have fun while staying there!
