Outdoor Companies Who Have Not Sold Out?
hiking gear from non greedy sell-out companies? Chaco went down the toilet, Arc`teryx is not among the ranks of “wilson” sports gear and “salamon” which are absolute crap. Everything says made in china, and it costs hundreds of dollars, even the Marmot Exum is made in china. What the hell is going on.
Were can I get quality world-class outdoors clothing (technical) that is still from small indendent locally owned brands? ie. NOT “made in china”

I dunno, I dont buy much techincal gear but I think patagonia is pretty legit heres an excerpt from thier website
“This is a report about Patagonia’s efforts toward corporate social responsibility. At its core, it’s about this company’s relationship with the people who work in the factories that make our clothing and gear, and what we have done, and are trying to do, to ensure that Patagonia products are produced under safe, fair, legal and humane working conditions.”
But buying something local is always good for the local community, too and I support that 100 percent.
Im trying to do the fair trade thing as much as possible

Try going to http://www.biggreenpurse.com or http://www.treehugger.com. They both have lots of links to eco friendly companies, many are small American companies, but some are made in Asia as well.
