What Is Some Good Hiking Gear?
I am going to Thailand and the Philippines for 3 months starting in mid-December. We are going into a village so I need to bring a backpack and a sleeping bag. I am not a hiker or a camper at all, so I have no idea what kind of light-weight gear to get. The sleeping bag needs to be small and light-weight because it will be hot. Any suggestions? Go to your local backpacking shop. They are all over the country. Stay away from the Wal-Mart, Dick’s, Gander Mountain chain stores. Find a store that specializes in Backpacking and non-hunting/fishing outdoor recreation. They usually have people working there that are “gear junkies” and know what they are talking about. Tell them your situation and they will be able to help. If I knew what city, I could tell you exactly where to go. Good luck
