What Should I Wear Hiking In The Snow?

2

I’m going to the snow in the new year, and I’ve never been before. I’m going skiing and hiking and spending some time outdoors.
I’ve got all my ski gear but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to wear when I was hiking? Should I just wear my ski pants and jacket, or invest in something a little bit lighter and less bulky?

I just moved to alaska two monsths ago from south Texas, so I had the same problem, and I tell you, snow pants are great! if the snow gets on your jeans, then it will melt, you will get wet, then cold, and snow pants prevent that.
